What is co-extrusion in vinyl fencing?

Category: Fence,Home Improvement

Co-Extrusion is a relatively new advancement in vinyl fence extrusion technology. It basically brings two layers of PVC together. The outer layer (cap stock) is a dense concentration of vinyl and UV inhibitors. The inner layer (substrate) is usually the same as the outer layer but with less UV. This fabrication process is said to be cheaper but will typically produce the same effect. The lower cost of co-extruded vinyl creates a slightly more affordable product without sacrificing quality if the right materials are used.

Does the difference between a wall thickness of 0.015″ verses 0.014″ on the rails have any affect on the strength and resistance to sagging of the fencing
