What are crop marks?
|
Answer:
Printers use crop marks, also known as tic or registration marks, in different ways. We use them to indicate the cut marks for the finished size sheet. If a finished size is 8″ x 10″ and we run it on an 8.5″ by 11″ sheet of paper and it is two sided, a printer on a small press can line them up by looking through the sheet to know both sides will be in the right position. We can also use them to make sure all the copy is registered when more than one color of ink is used. |
