What is an engineered wood floor?

Category: Flooring,Home Improvement

Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered wood floors are manufactured by pressing and gluing several layers of real wood together. This type of wood flooring offers a quick and easy alternative to solid wood flooring at a fraction of the cost. Like solid wood floors, engineered wood flooring is offered in a range of thicknesses, finishes, colors, and stains. Engineered wood flooring is often more stable than solid wood, so you can put it over concrete or radiant floors, and not worry about warping. This makes engineered flooring perfect choice for below-grade foundations such as basements, utility rooms, and bathrooms. They can be installed on any grade level with nail down, glue down, or floating methods.
