What are favicons? What are favicon.ico files?
|
Answer:
Favicons, or favorites icon, are images that are typically seen next to the URL bar on a website or web page. Most new web browsers support this functionality simply by moving the favicon.ico file to the root of a website or by using html to designate it for a particular page. Favicons are usually 16 x 16 pixels in size and can be generated using a variety of web based favicon generators. Sites such as favicon.cc, favicongenerator.com, favicon.com, and favicon-generator.org – give you the ability to design and create such files for free to be used on personal or corporate websites. |
