What is a fume plume?

Category: Industrial

Answer:

A fume plume is a visible cloud that occurs straight from the point of welding or cutting. Welders should avoid inhaling these toxic gases directly. Ventilation is often necessary to direct the plume away from the face. (Fume removal is most effective when the air flow is directed across the face of the welder, rather than from behind.)  A good welding helmet will help block and prevent inhalation.
