What is bandwidth in web hosting?
Answer:
Bandwidth for web hosting is basically the transfer of data from one computer to another. Visiting any website will lower their allotment of bandwidth. Most web hosting companies will often put a limit on the bandwidth for a particular website. This limit is typically measured on monthly basis and in gigabytes. If a website exceeds its bandwidth allowance as determined by their particular web hosting plan, the website will generally be taken down or suspended. It will be reinstated the following month when their bandwidth limits have been restored or, if their plan allows, will continue as usual at a significantly higher cost per gigabyte of transfer. |
