What does AED stand for?
|
Answer:
AED is an acronym that stands for Automated External Defibrillator. It is a device used to deliver an electric shock to the chest wall of the heart. A computer in the AED will monitor the patient’s heart rhythm and decide if a defibrillation is necessary. Many AED’s will either use audio and/or visual prompts to guide the user through the process of administering a shock (if one is necessary). |
