What is screen printing?

Category: Printing & Publishing

Answer:

Screen-printing is a printing process that is typically used in the creation of custom printed t-shirts, clothing, and a variety of other products. The design or logo is transferred to the substrate using a screen or mesh, a stencil, heat, pressure, and specialized inks to achieve the desired result. Screen printing is often seen as one of the more versatile printing processes since it can be used for printing on just about any surface regardless of size and shape.

The actual process involves forcing ink with a squeegee through a screen over a frame with a tightly attached substrate. The process is repeated for each color until the desired image is created. It is then cured to dry the specialized UV ink that is often used in this process.
